Kit's Expedition|Trikit and Icekit leave the nurse

Icekit ran over to Trikit with a flurry of excitement. Summoning his companion with a flick of his tail, he stepped through the thresh hold of the nursery and into the camp itself. His eyes widened with its sheer size, compared to his small figure. He ran around, unsure where to go. "Where do you want to go first Trikit?" he asked innocently, "The elders den? How about the Medicine cats den? Oh, what if we went to the leaders den?" The last suggested sounded enticing to him even as he uttered it, Icekit could imagine sitting in Thornstar's den, where all the Riverclan leaders of old once sat. The thought only made him more anxious as he waited for Trikits reply.

[Whitestar]

Ohhh. Yeth let'th go to the leader'th den! That soundth fun! Trikit said excitedly. He too, was amazed at the camp's size. He ran-hopped over to the entrance of the leader's den and stopped dead there. He wondered if he was going to get into trouble. But, he was a kit and that din't really matter. He waited for Icekit to come and go inside with him.

Icekit eagerly clambered after his comrad. At the enterance to the den, he questioned their action, but shrugged the thought from his mind as he remembered that Thornstar was at the gathering! "Let's go, I've wanted to see this my whole life!" he commanded dispight the fact that his life was terribly short in comparison to any other warrior of his clan. He raced down into the den and stared at it with awe. It looked so spacious for one cat, he couldn't stand it! "How come Thornstar gets all this?!" he demanded in spite of himself, "We are just as important aren't we?" he called back to his accomplice in mischief. He wondered if Thornstar would mind if they shared the den. The idea intrigued him so he curled up and began to nap.

I know! It'th us that are gonna grow up and be warriorth! We thould get better stuff! Trikit complained to Icekit. He, too was getting tired and layed down next to Icekit and fell asleep.

Blinking the sleep from his eyes, Icekit nudged Trikit to wake him. The den was extremely comfortable. Icekit sautered sleepily out to the dens enterance and stared with horror at the moon hanging over his head, they had slept all day!! "Trikit, get up! Its already nighttime!!" he shouted. Turning back to the camp, he realized he didn't know which direction the nursery was. Hoping Trikit would know, Icekit waited for his friend to wake.

Trikit jerked awake, accidently hissing at Icekit. Oopth sorry. Ya thcared me. Trikit laughed. He then walked out of the den and gasped. It was nighttime! Icekit! Lets go outthide the camp! Thats gonna be fun! Trikit squealed, run-hopping over the the entrance of the camp. Maybe we can even go to the gathering!! Trikit yelped. He waited for his new-found friend to come along with him.

Icekit thought about the implications of Trikits request, wouldn't they get in trouble? The excitement roiling inside him was to great and he put aside his worrys. "Thats a great idea! Maybe we'll see other clans!" He was twitching from sheer excitement. He ran to the camps enterance and sniffed the air. He scented Thornstars scent, which he had gathered from the leaders den. "This way!" he cried "We have to hurry!". He ran as fast as his kit legs could carry him out of the camp and into the darkness.

Yay! Trikit squealed as he bounded out of the camp after Icekit. He followed Icekit's scent trail because it was so dark that he couldn't see. He couldn't run as fast as Icekit so he was a small way behind and it was hard for him to catch his scent.

Icekit noticed his friend falling behind and waited for him to catch up. "I wonder what it'll be like," he said making samll talk. He could hear the sound of the river in the distance, "How will we get across the river?" he asked.

(Can't cats see in the dark? )

Hiddenit woke up alreted that all the kits were gone except for a few sleeping kits, she followed a scent that led outside, she spotted Trikit and Icekit.Hiddenkit jumped out of the bushes and mewed, I'm telling on you!Hiddenkit retreated into the camp heading for nursery to tell.

Thornstar came back along the same path they left. On the other side of the river on the island, he saw the shape of kits. He swam beside Darkclaw to make sure she got across all right. Seeing Trikit, Icekit and Hiddenkit he said. What are you kits doing outside of the camp? Do your parents know this? He waited for them to answer before escorting them back to the nursery.

Darkclaw came up and then licked Thornstar between the ears, I will be waiting. she whispered as she went thorugh the camp and headed for the leaders den, when she passed the fresh kill pile she picked up a water vole and took it to the leaders den.

Come with me kits, we have to talk to your parents, I'm sure they'll find this VERY interesting. He waited for the kits to follow him back to the nursery.

Icekit felt downcast. He couldn't believe he let his excitement get away from him. "I'm sorry for getting you into this," he said solmnly to Trikit, "I was foolish to disobey our parents' orders." He suddenly realize the trouble they would be in if Thornstar scented their visit to his den. He voiced his worries to Trikit under hi breath,"Let's hope for the best." he whispered.
