Spottedpelt started to get tired and hungry.She called for Strongheart to bring her something, Strongheart, can you get something for me from the fresh kill pile?Please?Strongheart soon brought something from the fresh kill pile, a plumped vole was in his teeth as he went through the entrance.Spottedpelt took it and started to make small pieces for Swiftkit to eat.Swiftkit come here please, would you like to eat a piece of vole for me?She held the small piece of vole in her teeth and put it in front of Swiftkit.Spottedpelt held it while Brightkit sniffed it and started to gnaw on it gently.No Brightkit you are not ready for meat yet, this is for Swiftkit to try it.She dropped the piece and pushed it to Swiftkits side.She waited for Swiftkit to take a little bit of it.

Swiftkit smelt the meat, it's delicious aroma filled her nostrils, tentativly she took a small bite. She enjoyed it so mcuh, she took the entire chunk Spottedpelt was offering to her and started eating it with shamshmuck ((*Relish, enjoyment, sorry, my German roots there))

Spottedpelt looked at her as she ate, Would you like more?She ripped another piece of the plumped vole that was in front of her.She handed the piece to Swiftkit and she started to eat after she had given it to Swiftkit.Strongheart came through the entrance and said, Do you here that?Spottedpelt froze and answered, I have not heard any noice why whats happening?Spottedpelt stared at Strongheart waiting for him to reply.Well I hear something in the distance and I'm going to go check.Stay here and don't take the kits out yet until I know what it is.Strongheart ordered Spottedpelt.He left the nursery and Spottedpelt just started back to eating.

Swiftkit liked this new food, this vole as Spottedpelt called it. Yes please! she squeaked as she took the chunk Spottedpelt was offering

Don't eat to much or you will get sick you only have a little stomach!She gave one more piece to Swiftkit and mewed, ARe you still hungry?She dropped the piece and started back eating the vole.

No mom! she mewed, Swiftkit curled up in a ball and gave a great big yawn. she was soon fast asleep

Swiftkit was awakened in teh middle of the night by the extreme cold. She looked around and noticed that Brightkit was gone, leaving her with WIldkit and Dustkit. They were huddled together in a tight ball of fur. She shivered again, where was her mother?
