Paintedstar jumped up on the great rock and yowled for all cats to hear"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Great Rock" She waited as the other cats gathered.

Hawkwing quickly walked to the great rock. He sat down and curled his tail aroud his front paws, looking up at his leader. He was excited; he was going to get his first apprentice! His whiskers quivered with excitement as he waited for Paintedstar to begin the ceremony.

Meadowkit walked over to sit near Hawkwing, and felt him shake a little. He must be as excited as I am, thought Meadowkit. "I cant wait!" Meadowkit shouted outloud. Seeing his mistake he was quickly quiet and sat down next to Hawkwing.

Paintedstar watched as Meadowkit and Hawkwing quivered with excitement. She stood up strait and almost jumped when she heard Meadowkit squel. "Meadowkit come up here please"

Meadowkit walked up to Paintedstar

Paintedstar waited for Meadowkit once he got up the rock she said proudly"Meadowkit, your old enough to become an apprentice and have a mentor. So I call upon the warrior ancestors to look upon this kit and give her the courage he needs to serve this clan, and now Meadowkit, your new apprentice name shall be Meadowpaw!"

Hawkwing got up and touched noses with his new apprentice. It fits you, Meadowpaw. Congratulations! Hawkwing said to him. Then he started chanting, Meadowpaw, Meadowpaw, Meadowpaw. He looked at his leader and said, Thank you Paintedstar. You'll be happy when he becomes a warrior! Hawkwing sat back down.

Paintedstar chanted "Meadowpaw! Meadowpaw!" Jumping off the rock she looked at Hawkwing and said "Your welcome, have fun with your new apprentice" Then left to her den.

Meadowpaw after touching noses with Hawkwing said "thank you" and waited for his instructions.
